mdGallery for MDPro and PostNuke
This document was written to support mdGallery. It will enable you to get the lines and skin support back into Gallery as well as use skin support to match your theme if you choose. Each theme can have a different skin
mdGallery is taken from Gallery found at
http://Gallery.SourceForge.net. This is
NOT mdGallery, for mdGallery see the download link below.
Gallery is a very robust photo/album system. We like it a lot. The only problem is that it is currently NOT NOT compatible with MDPro/
Post Nuke out of the box. We have created our own MDPro compatible port of Gallery (Should work in
Post Nuke) that will allow you to not only use the skins but use a different skin depending on the theme selected. Use Gallery at your own risk, future upgrades may not be hackable. We use it on our site because we are stuck with it for the moment. Please feel free to recommend another one. Below you will find support tools for mdGallery as well as step by step directions on how to hack the original code of gallery (what we did). If you would like to contribute please feel free to create an account on this site and edit this document directly as well as post in our posting area's.
If you do not read the documents you will not be able to make this work correctly.

Notes...

For these instructions assume that "<MySitePath>" means the path leading up to the start of the site. So if your site is located at "/home/jdoe/public_html" then "/home/jdoe/public_html" = <MySitePath>. If we say "<MySitePath>/modules" then really we would mean "/home/jdoe/public_html/modules".
-
Where "<MySiteURL>" is the name of your website domain if your site is "www.coolsite.com" then http://<MySiteURL>/modules would be http://www.coolsite.com/modules
-
These instructions reference MDPro as that is what we recommend but the same instructions will likely work for Post Nuke.
-
Anything starting with a $ means to type it at a shell prompt. If you are using ftp or WinSCP or installing it locally then just use your Graphical Interface and ignore the $ commands. If you do follow the $ commands then remmeber NOT to include the "$". Just type what is to the right of it. Whether or not you use the shell prompt or a GUI you must still complete the objective directions.
